The responsibilities of the Promotions Director shall include…
Broadly, working to promote KWCW and its activities both on the Whitman College campus and in the greater Walla Walla community to the end of increasing KWCW listenership. Promotional work should include both on-air and off-air promotion.
Specific projects might include…
- Targeted promotion to specific KWCW audiences (i.e. perhaps a partnership with Hot Poop
to post notice of KWCW hip-hop programming next to Hot Poop Hip-hop retail section)
- Working with DJs to create pre-recorded audio spots to serve as show-specific promotions
- Production of additional audio spots, to perhaps include local and non-local celebrity IDs, sound collages, etc.
- Creation of KWCW artwork for both immediate and long-term use: such might include bumper sticker design, handbills, posters of varying sizes, etc.
- Working to bring live music to Walla Walla under the aegis of KWCW. This will involve working closely with individual members of the KWCW community (many of whom have familiarity with touring schedules of musicians), KWCW Music Directors (with further access to touring schedules), and ASWC Public Events and their generous coffers. This will also, more than likely, involve pursuing alternatives to the usual campus venues.
- Coordination of other special events (concert film viewing? Music listening parties?)
- Issuing of press releases
